CARL PERKINS HANDWRITTEN AND SIGNED “BLUE SUEDE SHOES”
With his smash 1956 hit classic “Blue Suede Shoes,” Carl Perkins virtually defined and established rockabilly music in the rock and roll cannon and launched Sun Records into national prominence. Carl Perkins is regarded by many as one of the founding fathers of rock-and-roll. Although he placed only one record in the pop top forty “Blue Suede Shoes,” it became a legendary one in the annals of rock-and-roll and propelled Perkins, one of the original rockabilly singers, into his legendary status.
Born Carl Lee Perkins near Tiptonville, Tennessee in 1932, the son of the only white sharecropper (Fonie “Buck” Perkings)on a cotton plantation and Louise Brantley. The family lived first in a three room shack and then a one room storehouse. The family was so poor that kids in the neighborhood brought cast off clothes for the Perkins brothers. perkinperform.jpg (60540 bytes)perkinsyoung.jpg (43583 bytes)
Growing up in Tennessee with his brothers, Jay B. and Clayton, Carl learned to play the guitar and became quite proficient at it. He listened to country music, gospel, and blues, and began to write some of his own compositions. At 13 he performed a song that he had written, Movie Magg, at a local talent show and won. He formed a group with Jay and Clayton called the Perkins Brothers. Carl played electric guitar and did most of the singing with Jay playing acoustic rhythm guitar, and Clayton the upright bass.
Shortly after World War II the family moved to Bemis Tennessee, where the brothers worked in the cotton mills. Buck was unable to get a job in the mills because of a lung condition, and Perkins family went back to sharecropping.

THE MEMPHIS MAFIA”
The Memphis Mafia is the nickname given to the group of men who were with Elvis Presley everyday from 1956 until the day he died on August 16, 1977.
There were eight original members; although at times, they numbered between four and thirteen. The core group of original guys (Sonny West, Red West, Billy Smith, Marty Lacker, and Lamar Fike) was considered to be the closest to Elvis and became his confidants throughout the years.
The name “The Memphis Mafia” was bestowed on the group in an unusual way. In the early 1960’s, Elvis and the guys frequently wore black mohair suits. One afternoon in Las Vegas on a two-week pleasure trip, Elvis and the guys went to meet someone at the Riviera Hotel.
Elvis and the guys usually stayed at The Sahara Hotel. Their normal routine for Las Vegas was to stay up all night and sleep during the day. Elvis and the guys normally started their day about 5 p.m. However, on that day, the appointment at the Riviera Hotel was at 1 p.m. Four hours earlier than they normally got up.
There was a crowd of people in front of the Riviera Hotel when the two big black limousines pulled up. Elvis and about ten guys, all wearing black mohair suits and sunglasses, got out of the limousines. Because they normally didn’t get much in the sun during the day, their skins were pale white. It was a scary sight to behold, and someone in the crowd yelled: “Who are they, The Mafia?”
It just so happened that there was a reporter from a Las Vegas newspaper there. So, the next day, a story ran about what she saw. She dubbed them “The Memphis Mafia.” Elvis loved his guys being called that, and the name stuck.
The guys became known throughout the world as “The Memphis Mafia.” Like the real mafia, there was always a code of silence within the group while Elvis was alive. Throughout all the years of his life, they protected Elvis’ name and image.
Now is the first time that this many of the original members of The Memphis Mafia have gotten together to relate to you, the public, what those many years with Elvis Presley were really like. Today, The Memphis Mafia is comprised of the following men:

JOHNNY CASH COLLECTION EXCLUSIVELY AVAILABLE FROM TRISH HESSEY AUTOGRAPHS
BIOGRAPHY:
Country singer, guitarist, songwriter. Born February 26, 1932, in Kingsland, Arkansas. The son of poor Southern Baptist sharecroppers, Cash, one of seven children born to Ray and Carrie Rivers Cash, moved with his family at the age of three to Dyess, Arkansas, so that his father could take advantage of the New Deal farming programs instituted by President Roosevelt. There, the Cash clan lived in a five-room house and farmed 20 acres of cotton and other seasonal crops.
John, or J.R. as he was known to those close to him, spent the bulk of the next 15 years out in the fields, working alongside his parents and brothers and sisters. It wasn’t always an easy life, Cash would later recall. At the age of 10 he was hauling water for a road gang and at 12 years old he moving large sacks of cotton.
“The entire family, my parents, two brothers and two sisters spent the first night in the truck under a tarpaulin” Cash once said about his family’s move to Dyess. “The last thing I remember before going to sleep was my mother beating time on the old Sears-Roebuck guitar, singing ‘What Would You Give In Exchange For Your Soul.”
Music was indeed one of the ways the Cash family found escape from some of the hardship. Songs surrounded the young Johnny Cash, be it his mother’s folk and hymn ballads, or the working music people sang out in the fields. CONTINUE READING AT BIOGRAPHY.COM SITE….

JOHNNY ROTTEN SIGNED MICROPHONE (SEX PISTOLS)
SEX PISTOLS: Sex Pistols and Public Image, Ltd. A primary culprit behind the style and attitude that is associated with the punk movement of the late 1970s, John Lydon — known in his early career as “Johnny Rotten” (a nickname inspired by the dismal condition of his teeth at the time) — is certainly one of the most recognizable performers of the punk era, despite his relatively short-lived involvement in the genre. Perhaps even more significant is his role in establishing the direction of post-punk, “alternative” music in the 1980s, which combined avant-garde and world music into the raw approach developed during the previous decade. He has certainly come to define one of the oddest contradictions created by the post-1950s music industry: the rebellious, anti-establishment outsider turned established, internationally-known celebrity.

Elvis Presley personal suede collarless jacket with Sy Devore Label. Hand crafted for Elvis Presley. Identical jacket to the one Elvis wore in the dance sequence with Ann Margaret “C’mon Everybody” in “Viva Las Vegas”. The original owner was employed by a company in New York that was responsible for the cutting of the fabric swatches for the August 1971 release of “Elvis: The Other Sides-Worldwide Gold Award Hits, Volume 2″ a 4-LP set from RCA Victor. The tag on the shirt was used for tracking and has a black RCA block logo on the other side.
Taken from the Sy Devore Site-
Known as the “tailor to the stars” until his death in 1966, Sy Devore was almost as famous in Hollywood as the men he dressed.
But he made his biggest fashion impact with the martini-gulping, wisecracking, Hollywood-Palm Springs-Las Vegas-hopping Rat Pack. They came to Devore’s on Vine Street near Sunset Boulevard, just around the corner from the Brown Derby restaurant, to shop as well as hang out.
Eventually his star clientele included Bing Crosby, Spencer Tracy, John Wayne, Desi Arnaz, Danny Thomas, Rock Hudson, Richard Burton, Nat King Cole, David Janssen, Sidney Poitier, Eddie Fisher and Robert Conrad. Even Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Baines Johnson bought his clothes.
“In a very good year, I have my choice between a Rolls-Royce,
a new house in Beverly Hills or a suit from Sy Devore.”
— Bob Hope
